Helping with Elderly Holiday Blues

The holiday season is almost over!  We just have New Year’s left, but if things went smoothly during Thanksgiving and Christmas time, congratulations.  The holiday season can be a very difficult time for Elderly individuals who have limited contact with family members.  The loneliness heightens especially if the Elder individual has lost a significant other or close friends in recent times.  They may spend too much time dwelling upon nostalgic memories of joyous Thanksgiving dinners, Christmas gatherings, and welcoming the New Year in good company.
